Title TRAX Driver

The Ark-Tex Council of Governments (ATCOG) is now accepting applications for a TRAX Driver in Paris, TX. CDL is preferred but not required. This position is responsible for providing transportation services to individuals, including persons with disabilities, in a safe and timely manner; and operating and maintaining the TRAX vehicles.

Your application MUST identify the required minimum qualifications for this position. Please detail how you meet the minimum qualifications AND respond in detail to the KSA’s in the “Worked Performed” blocks of the application. You may use plain bond paper in order to effectively respond to all the KSA’s.

EDUCATION/TRAINING: Requires high school diploma or its equivalent. CDL is preferred but not required.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES (KSA’s)

Knowledge of vehicle operations. Must pass a Federal Transit Administration (FTA) approved drug test and criminal records check.

Skill/Ability Skills required are demonstrated proficiency in vehicle operation. Must possess verbal, people skills; the ability to think through situations and deal with problems constructively; and the ability to deal with stress. Must be self-motivated with a clean driving record. Must possess ability to see, hear, reach, stoop, bend, and lift and carry up to 25 lbs. Must be able to perform essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Title Regional Development Specialist

Job Information

The Ark-Tex Council of Governments (ATCOG) is now accepting applications for Regional Development Specialist, Announcement #1906. This is a full-time position. Salary is grade eight (8), depending on experience. This position is responsible for researching and preparing grant applications, agency reports, and Regional Development Department projects. Also responsible for assisting in the administration of Federal, State, and Local grants in support of a variety of programs for the ATCOG region. As well as, responsible for assistance with outreach for Economic Development Programs.

EDUCATION/TRAINING: Bachelor’s Degree required, but work experience reflecting demonstrated attainment of knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered in lieu of education. Military experience may be substituted for education and/or experience in related field. Experience in grant preparation, communications, journalism or other related field required, with at least three (3) years preferred.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES (KSA’s)
Knowledge of grant programs, procedures, and regulations particularly relating to economic and community development; procedures of local government meetings; grant documentation requirements; and various electronic and physical research methods. Skills to effectively communicate, both written and orally; accurate documentation of pertinent data; and proficiency with standard office equipment and computers, Microsoft applications, online data entry and submissions. Ability to apply, read, and understand grant administration manuals and apply those procedures to active grants; interpret and apply broad standards and policies to programmatic operations; follow instructions; and build working relationships. Ability to see, hear, reach, stoop, bend, lift and carry up to 30 pounds required. Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Additional Requirement: Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license subject to an approved motor vehicle report and reliable transportation with valid proof of insurance for travel within the ATCOG region.
