About the Transportation Program

Ark-Tex Council of Governments Rural Transit District (TRAX) provides low-cost transportation for residents of Bowie, Cass, Delta, Franklin, Hopkins, Lamar, Morris, Red River and Titus counties from their homes or other designated pick up points to meet transportation needs. This rural transportation network does not provide intercity transportation within Nash, Texarkana, or Wake Village.

Ark-Tex Council of Governments has a TRAX program to serve you in its non-urban areas. TRAX is funded through the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and Federal Transit Administration (FTA).

Charges may be determined by phone the TRAX service provider for your county. To sechule a trip, please call the service provider at least 24 hours before your trip. This allows the vehicles to be scheduled and coordinated for maximum utilization and allows for special needs passengers. TRAX provides accommodations for the special needs of passengers and has ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) accessible vehicles. Wheel chair lifts are available upon request.
